Baking Soda Packaging Machine | Zipper Pouch for Sodium Bicarbonate & Baking Powder

Baking soda, sodium bicarbonate, baking powder, and similar leavening agents present a unique challenge: they are extremely fine powders that can become airborne and contaminate seals. Our stand-up and zipper pouch packaging machine is specifically engineered for these light, dusty powders.

The machine includes three dust-control features:

Enclosed filling head with vacuum dust extraction

Stepped motor-driven auger filler for precise volumetric fills

Seal area air knife that blows away dust before sealing

Baking soda and baking powder are commonly packed into:

Stand-up pouches (retail kitchen packs)

Zipper pouches (resealable bulk bags for bakeries)

Small flat pouches (sample packs)

Quad-seal pouches (industrial 5kg–25kg bags)

Because baking powder is sensitive to moisture, the machine offers an optional dehumidified air purge that keeps the filling zone dry. This prevents premature activation of leavening agents during packaging.

Accuracy is critical for chemical leaveners. Our auger filler achieves ±1% accuracy for most baking soda and powder products. For high-speed lines (over 35 bags/min), we recommend adding a multi-head weigher or net weigh scale.

Speed: 20–45 pouches per minute depending on bag size and powder density.

The machine supports bag widths from 100mm to 300mm and can handle pouch thickness up to 120 microns. All powder-contact parts are mirror-finished 304 stainless steel for easy cleaning between batches of different powders (e.g., baking soda vs. cream of tartar).
